SOUND BARRIER SYSTEMS

Sound barrier wall systems.

Effective noise reduction with lightweight composite construction.

Sound Barrier Walls are designed to reduce noise transmission between adjoining areas. Constructed with cementitious or fibre-cement outer skins and a lightweight expanded polystyrene (EPS) core, these modular panels provide a practical solution for a range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure applications.

The modular panel format offers flexible configurations, a smooth exterior finish and practical installation options suited to different site and engineering requirements.

SOUND ABSORPTION SYSTEMS

Sound absorbing wall systems.

Designed to absorb sound energy in noise-intensive environments.

Sound Absorb Walls are designed for environments where reflected noise and sound build-up require particular attention. The panels feature a perforated aluminium facing and a Rockwool/PET acoustic core. Sound enters through the perforated face and is absorbed within the core, helping manage reverberation and reflected noise.

Their lightweight yet robust construction makes them suitable for a range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure applications.

Key features.

  • Perforated aluminium acoustic-facing surface.
  • Non-perforated aluminium components.
  • Rockwool/PET acoustic core, with 80% recycled content stated in the supplied specification sheet.
  • Lightweight and robust construction.
  • Panel lengths of 2,400, 3,000 and 4,000 mm.
  • Standard panel height of 600 mm.
  • Available thicknesses of 75 and 100 mm.
  • Powder-coated finish.
  • Surfmist listed as the standard colour, with custom colours subject to confirmation.

Typical applications.

  • Road and rail corridors.
  • Loading docks.
  • Dyno rooms.
  • Acoustic enclosures.
  • HVAC systems, pool pumps and generators.
  • Drive-through facilities.
  • Cinemas and theatres.
  • Water parks.
  • Pubs, clubs and restaurants.
  • Industrial and mechanical plant environments.

Additional product information.

  • Moisture absorption: Less than 0.2% by volume under the test conditions stated in the specification sheet.
  • Fire testing: The supplied sheet reports AS 1530.3 test results for the Rockwool core only. These results should not be interpreted as a fire rating for the complete wall system.
  • Published product warranty: 10 years, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
  • Published design life: 50+ years.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions.

What is the difference between sound barrier walls and sound-absorbing walls?

Sound barrier walls primarily reduce noise transmission between adjoining areas. Sound-absorbing walls absorb sound energy through an acoustic facing and core to manage reflected noise and reverberation. Rw measures sound insulation, while NRC measures sound absorption; these ratings describe different properties.

Does Urbanscapes offer acoustic wall supply and installation?

Yes. Urbanscapes supplies and installs acoustic wall systems for suitable civil, commercial and industrial projects, with the scope confirmed to suit site conditions and engineering requirements.

Which acoustic wall system options are available?

The systems described on this page include lightweight composite sound barrier panels and perforated aluminium sound-absorbing panels with an acoustic core. Selection depends on the project’s acoustic objectives, site conditions and engineering requirements. Confirm the relevant panel specifications and performance before ordering.

Can contractors purchase supply-only acoustic wall panels?

Yes. Contractors and installers can purchase acoustic wall panels on a supply-only basis and manage installation with their own teams. Installation is not included. Contact Urbanscapes to discuss panel specifications, project quantities and delivery options.
