Sound Barrier Walls
Designed primarily to reduce the transmission of noise through a wall, helping separate adjoining areas.

SOUND WALLS
Specialist sound barrier and sound-absorbing wall systems for civil, commercial and industrial developments. Urbanscapes supplies and installs acoustic wall solutions tailored to project requirements.
Discuss Your ProjectINTRODUCTION
Different environments require different approaches to noise control. Urbanscapes offers two acoustic wall systems designed to address different needs: Sound Barrier Walls, which help reduce noise transmission, and Sound Absorb Walls, designed to absorb sound energy and manage reflected noise.
Both systems feature modular panel construction, with product selection based on acoustic objectives, site conditions and engineering requirements.
SOUND BARRIER SYSTEMS
Sound Barrier Walls are designed to reduce noise transmission between adjoining areas. Constructed with cementitious or fibre-cement outer skins and a lightweight expanded polystyrene (EPS) core, these modular panels provide a practical solution for a range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure applications.
The modular panel format offers flexible configurations, a smooth exterior finish and practical installation options suited to different site and engineering requirements.

| Specification | Details |
|---|---|
| Outer material | Cementitious/fibre-cement skin |
| Core | Expanded polystyrene (EPS) |
| Panel lengths | 2,400 / 3,000 / 4,200 mm |
| Panel heights | 600 / 900 / 1,200 mm |
| Panel thicknesses | 50 / 75 / 100 / 113 mm |
| Published surface density | 15.30–21.35 kg/m², thickness dependent |
| Sound insulation rating (Rw) | 28 dB for 50 mm and 75 mm panels |
| Wind regions | A, B, C and D, subject to system design |
The published Rw rating of 28 dB applies to 50 mm and 75 mm panels. Confirm the acoustic performance of other thicknesses before specifying them.

SOUND ABSORPTION SYSTEMS
Sound Absorb Walls are designed for environments where reflected noise and sound build-up require particular attention. The panels feature a perforated aluminium facing and a Rockwool/PET acoustic core. Sound enters through the perforated face and is absorbed within the core, helping manage reverberation and reflected noise.
Their lightweight yet robust construction makes them suitable for a range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure applications.
| Specification | 75 mm Panel | 100 mm Panel |
|---|---|---|
| Surface density | 8 kg/m² | 9.2 kg/m² |
| Sound insulation rating (Rw) | 25 dB | 27 dB |
| Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) | 0.90 | 0.95 |
| Panel lengths | 2,400 / 3,000 / 4,000 mm | 2,400 / 3,000 / 4,000 mm |
| Panel height | 600 mm | 600 mm |
| Frequency | 75 mm Panel | 100 mm Panel |
|---|---|---|
| 250 Hz | 0.60 | 0.80 |
| 500 Hz | 1.00 | 1.00 |
| 1,000 Hz | 1.00 | 1.00 |
| 2,000 Hz | 0.95 | 1.00 |
Rw measures sound insulation, while NRC indicates sound absorption. These are different acoustic performance measures.
